Photo Article from the Welsh Hovel - dramatic discoveries in "the mother-in-law's bedroom"

The room next to where I sit right now is not part of the original house. It was added on in the 18th century and together with the room above was once, I believe, the servants accomodation. For the past sixty years – or more – it has been termed the annexe and treated as a seperate property, boarded apart from the main house. That boarding was removed and so the annexe has been reunited with the main house. It is where my mother in law may one day reside. With that in mind I am cracking on with its restoration and what I have discovered in the past 24 hours is shocking.

Photo Article from the Welsh Hovel - the River Dee rises to reach the first barn

I was unable to take photos from exactly the same spot as yesterday to show you how much the river Dee has risen as that would have left me in a couple of foot of water. But it has risen and will continue to rise as the rain from Bala makes its way down and because it is still raining. Britain's craziest divorce case - how is a business making £40k worth £1.1 billion?

Given how crazy and one sided Britain's divorce laws are only a complete and utter idiot of a man who is worth anything at all would ever get married. When I married my Mrs I was worth minus money so it was my mother in law who insisted on a pre-nup. Whatever. Anything for a quiet life. But are we seeing peak insanity in the divorce courts?

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast 23 January: Bank Robbers, Purists, Rampers & other shite

I am not in a good mood. Is this more to do with the reaction to Brokerman Dan's piece here yesterday or an impending trip to the Grim Northern welfare safaris to see the mother in law. Anyhow this podcast contains a lot of bad language. I discuss Daniel's contribution. The market was in a good mood yesterday and thus a number of wholly irrational share price spikes get covered: Mosman Oil & Gas (MSMN), XCite Energy (XEL), Condor Gold (CNR) and especially Highway Capital (HWC) which I cover in detail. I also explain why I remain bearish and comment on Aureus Mining (AUE) which announced a "strategic review" i.e. it is totally fucked.
